If a little stiff and reluctant on first taste, this nervy, tightly wound youngster slowly unfolds and reveals suggestions of well-ripened cherries, raspberries and no small measure of sweet oak. It is a long way from being pretty and polished at the moment, and its evident tannin signals a marked need for patience, but given the winery's track record of making ageworthy wines, it is one to lay away in complete confidence.
